Three winning video projects, as well as six runners-up, have been selected in the 1,000 Arches program.

As part of the program, student groups visited the Kemper Art Museum to see the exhibition Eero Saarinen: Shaping the Future , interacting with Museum educators to learn about the career of architect Eero Saarinen and many of his pivotal designs completed in the United States and throughout the world.

Next, each group visited the Gateway Arch in order to further explore Saarinen's creative process of architectural design, the public impact of monuments such as the Arch, and how such design projects can influence the planning and development of cities such as St. Louis.

Finally, students created their own video projects connecting their knowledge of Saarinen's design to their own experiences with the popular monument and its surrounding landscape.

From the nine participating schools, there were a total of 325 students who made 70 videos about the Gateway Arch. There are three winning videos from the elementary, middle, and high school groups with six runners-up from the middle and high school groups.

Visit the 1,000 Arches YouTube group to see a selection of videos from the student program, in addition to the videos submitted for the community project.
