Minor In Art

If you are in an undergraduate degree program at Washington University, you may pursue a minor in art from the College of Art. You must consult with the Associate Dean of Students or the Assistant Dean & Registrar (Bixby Hall, Suite 1).

All courses must be taken for credit and students must receive a grade of "C-" or better to earn credit. The requirements for all art minors are:


Art (General)
(15 units)
Two selected from the following courses:
Drawing* (F10 101)

Drawing* (F10 102)
Two-Dimensional Design (F10 105 or 106)
Three-Dimensional Design (F10 107 or 108)

*Two drawing courses waives design requirement.

Additional F10 100-level or F20 courses.

Transfer Credit for Minors


Students earning a minor in art may transfer only one non-Washington University course to fulfill a minor requirement with pre-approval from the Associate Dean of Students or Assistant Dean & Registrar. Architecture majors may transfer only one (either drawing or design) Washington University architecture course to fulfill an art minor requirement.
