Washington University is committed to working with your family to understand your financial circumstances and provide the help you need throughout your undergraduate years. The University offers a variety of financial assistance:
- No-loan assistance awards for families with low to middle incomes
- Awards that range up to the full cost of attendance
- Academic scholarships awarded through special competitions, as well as additional scholarships based on merit and financial need
- Approximately $65 million in scholarships and grants each year
- Awards tha are generally consistent each year, for four years, as long as financial circumstances do not change significantly

Academic Scholarships
The University offers academic scholarships to a number of outstanding students regardless of financial circumstances. These include:
James W. Fitzgibbon Scholarship
Each year, up to one full-tuition scholarship plus a $1,000 stipend and five partial scholarships are awarded to first-year College of Architecture students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance and promise in the field of architecture. The scholarshipsare renewable for each year of undergraduate study, assuming the student maintains a satisfactory academic record. Architecture applicants who wish to be considered for the Fitzgibbon Scholarship are required to submit a portfolio along with an Application for Academic Scholarships and Fellowships by January 15. You must check Architecture as your first-choice school on the Pre-Application Data Sheet to be considered.
Other Academic Scholarships
In addition, students may apply for the John B. Ervin Scholars Program or Annika Rodriguez Scholars Program, and be considered for the Enterprise Rent-A-Car Scholars Program. All of these scholarship programs enhance the overall quality and diversity of the student body.
Entrepreneurial Scholars Program
Architecture applicants with an entrepreneurial spirit and vision may apply for the Entrepreneurial Scholars Program, a renewable annual scholarship of $3,000
AIA Scholarships
Students should check with their local chapter of the American Institute of Architects to determine if additional funding is available.
