Elizabeth Ferry (MFA08) has been selected as one of the winners in the 2008 MFA Now Painting Competition. Her entry, Galaxist Returns (Boint Side), will be featured in the exhibition This is Paint! in Los Angeles. Twenty winners were chosen from among 314 entries.

Ferry is one of six Sam Fox School students, past and present, whose work will be documented in the latest MFA Now catalogue. The others are Gina Grafos, Wenting Hsu, Lisa Linke, Joel Parker, and Carlie Trosclair.

Based in New York, MFA Now is an international arts organization sponsoring arts-related events for graduate students enrolled in fine arts programs in North America, Europe, and Asia. Its mission is to promote emerging artists through arts competitions and other programs.

The 2008 MFA Now competition included more than 310 entries from 145 schools, representing 16 countries. The submissions a dynamic snapshot of the work that is emerging out of the finest schools around the world. The catalogue is published in two volumes, and each artist is represented by an artist's statement and two pages of photos.
