Hok Kang was born and raised in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He received the ASEAN Scholarship to study in Singapore and graduated from Washington University in May 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Architecture and a second major in Entrepreneurship.
A team of Sam Fox School architecture students took third place in the National Association of Minority Architects (NOMA) Student Design Competition, for the project "The Spark that Weaves: Intertwining family and neighborhood in Benton Park."
